Oscar®-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele reimagines the summer movie with Nope, an expansive pop epic of uncanny science fiction. Following their father's shocking death, Hollywood animal wrangler OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer) begin observing unexplained phenomena on their vast Southern California ranch that leads them down an obsessive rabbit hole as they plot attempts to capture the mystery on camera. Along with a former child star turned family theme park ringmaster (Steven Yeun) who neighbors the siblings, the pair's efforts to chase the spectacle soon bring terrifying consequences and unimaginable horror. The result is a complex social thriller that unpacks the seeds of violence, risk and opportunism that are inseparable from the romanticized history of the American West and from show business itself.

  • Go in with an open mind

I’ll admit I went into this movie thinking it would be a normal alien movie, something like Signs maybe. It’s not that, it’s something different and special, and it’s one of the most thought provoking movies I’ve seen in a while. No, it’s not a straightforward horror movie, because it’s not meant to be, but there are some truly unsettling scenes that had me glued to the screen. It’s also just a beautifully made and well acted movie. So is this movie good? I think so, but don’t take my word for it, watch it for yourself and go in knowing that it’s probably not what you’re expecting, but that might be a good thing.

Ignore all the simple minded people giving bad reviews. Amazing movie from plot, characters and intriguing parts to make you USE YOUR MIND. 10/10 worth every second and dollar!

Don’t listen to the haters. This movie rocks! I truly do not understand why so many people are saying this movie is “boring” and “not scary.” There are multiple moments in this film that are genuinely frightening and disturbing. WATCH IT!

This film's not worth the time or money to see.
  • Absolutely spectacular film about filmmaking

I saw this in theaters and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I can’t wait to watch it again! It is different than Peele’s previous offerings but if you’re a fan and trust him as a director you won’t regret it. It’s a really beautiful allegory for filmmaking and an examination of Hollywood’s historical treatment of the “other.”
  • Spectacle

I loved this movie so much. The themes of profiting from a spectacle to the dangers of trying to tame a wild animal are fantastic. The cinematography is phenomenal. Would love to see a directors cut! On a side note all of the bot 1 star reviews are pretty hilarious yet depressing at the same time because it’s so obviously a weak troll. They could’ve at least wrote a convincing review…
  • A Thoughtful Thriller

Massively enjoyed this!! All performances are fantastic, and it’s Peele, so of course it’s clever. Definitely needed to process this some more overnight after seeing it, but if you appreciate a deep dive, this movie is chock full of so much social commentary on how we view fame & what we’re willing to tolerate to attain it.
  • Terrible Movie

This was a painfully slow movie to watch with a few scenes mixed in to try and get you to stay. There was a lot of back flashing and plots to try and follow. Would not recommend. If you want to watch it then rent it or know someone who was naïve enough to buy it like me.
  • So Close!!!!!!

The monkey sequence might’ve been one of the most compelling storylines that Jordan Peele has ever written; it was a haunting metaphor for so many things. Having said that, the other 75-80 percent should’ve been rewritten. There were some very captivating scenes, but the silliness and ridiculous plot compromise the film’s integrity. There are some fantastic ideas, and the camera work might be Peele’s finest. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the fans and reviewers on this one. :(
