Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

  • What even is this story?

    By mreskimopie
The story is the first attempt to paint political structures in this world and it makes no sense. It takes half the movie to understand who the bad guys are because they just speak. There’s no action. This has the impact of leaving Newt & his friends feeling like they’ve been randomly glued into somebody else’s story just to call this a trilogy by showing them… even though they don’t do anything to move the story The story is supposed to be driven by Dumbledore’s invention that keeps the good guys from just arresting the bad guy until they shoot at them… then the bad guys shoot first and dumbledore easily wins, the end. This is a completely wasted conflict then ends up meaning as little as JK Rowlings clumsy political aphorisms in the script
  • Nicely Done

    By Bones2013
I came into the movie with lowered expectations looking at the reviews left on this forum. In fact, the movie was well done. Political intrigue, wizard culture, some action, cuteness & whimsy. Everything I’d expect for this chapter of the franchise. Regarding recasting Depp, they made a fine choice in Mads. Depp is always too over the top for me. He’s always playing himself playing the character. The new take is better.
  • Movie is trash

    Should’ve kept Johnny.
  • Sorry. Need Johnny Depp

Sorry but I couldn’t stop imagining if it was Johnny Depp in this third installment so I couldn’t really enjoy it.
  • No longer a fan

Clear political agenda and dropped Johny Depp. All around bad movie. I will no longer be following this series.
  • Fantastic prequel!

As a true fan of Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts series, I found this backstory to be well rounded, adding depth to the stories I already know and love. Perfect casting and incredible acting performances by all. This was my favorite Fantastic Beasts movie.
  • Terrible

Adding homosexuality to the plot is to be expected from groomers. Disgusting. The rest of the movie was hard to follow and slow. We didn’t finish it. Not worth watching. Total trash
  • Boring

Predictable and boring. I only watched it (with many pauses) so I don't waste $5.99.
  • More negative reviews on this garbage movie..

By replacing JD with Mads Mikkelsen, this movie isn't that exciting..1 and 2 were good..
  • Pathetically Woke - Dropped Johnny Depp

Was about to rent this and realized they dropped Johnny Depp. What a shame. They lost this customer!
